Albert Smith Head Shot

Born in Hawthorne California , Albert grew up in a bilingual environment , English and Spanish. Son of an Afro-American father and Mexican mother. At early age his father took the family to live in Costa Rica and Mexico. In his first years in school he showed ability drawing and with Arts , even though he was a shy kid his imagination didn’t let him stand still or silent . He was always creating stories with imaginary characters or making objects talk among them like puppets , giving them their own personalities and voices . As he was growing he began to play with his natural ability in mimicking people and imitating their voices , this way he discovered the joy of making people laugh and entertaining everyone around by having a honest and immediate response .
Right after High-School he joined a local Theater Company “Grupo Teatral Carreras” where he participate as an Actor and a Mime , He co-write their own material for all ages ( grown ups and kids ) also creating and building their own puppets . As a Mime he was co-writing their own sketches too .
As a member of the local theater he enjoyed performing at High Schools , Colleges , Cultural Events , Theater Tournaments , Festivals , Radio and TV Shows. His first intervention in a Radio station was as a writer and building puppets for a Live Saturday Morning Show for Kids . By that time he also perform in his first TV commercial for a local retail store “Comercial VH”. Add to that Albert was collaborating in a well known newspaper “El Nacional” as a cartoonist , creating characters and and writing jokes , all this between Guaymas and Hermosillo cities in the state of Sonora , Mexico . There is a gap in time when Albert left acting and joined local musical bands as a Bass player.
Back in California Albert pursue a career in professional Acting at Oxnard College, loving and learning every aspect in Film and Television Production . At Oxnard College Albert started to collaborate in all kind of projects before and behind camera . In one of this numerous projects he was introduced to the Berg Studios in Los Angeles where he took Professional Acting Classes . In 2014 Albert won his first award at the Oxnard Student Digital Film Festival in Comedy with the short film “The Conductor”.Also with Oxnard College’s Program “Latino Thought Makers” Series Albert had the oportunity to be in Rick Najera’s “Latinologues” playing “Carlos” a Dominican Republic Janitor . He also collaborated on a radio station again , this time as a Voice Over , Host and Writer in a Spanish speaking radio show on the internet who also turn in to a streamed TV Show called “Loz Anormales” .
When Albert’s not working on the Internet and Public Access TV Show “Loz Anormalez”, Albert enjoys good stories to share collaborating in Film Projects and Plays that make people Laugh or get thrilled.
